About the role#
The Private Markets Investment Intern will support the investment team at Missouri's largest defined benefit pension plan. This role focuses on private equity and private credit asset classes, providing exposure to the underwriting, management, and monitoring of a portfolio consisting of approximately $14 billion in assets. The position reports to the Investment Officer and requires collaboration with the broader Private Markets team on high-impact projects.
What you'll do#
- Assist the private equity and private credit investment staff with ongoing tasks and assigned projects.
- Participate in the underwriting, management, and monitoring of the Private Markets Portfolio.
- Work closely with members across the broader Private Markets team to support institutional investment objectives.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a university degree program for business administration, finance, accounting, economics, or a related field.
- Knowledge of finance and investment principles, practices, and financial analysis techniques.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office products, including Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Strong skills in preparing reports and presentations.
- Ability to establish positive working relationships with staff and work effectively both independently and in team settings.

- Travel: Periodic and infrequent day travel to the Jefferson City, Missouri office is anticipated.
