About the role#
The Capacity Building team at Public Health Ontario is looking for a practicum student to help coordinate educational programming. You will work with a team of Education Specialists, Events Specialists, and a lead coordinator. This role supports PHO's Strategic Direction #3, which focuses on advancing public health workforce capacity and knowledge to improve population health.
What you'll do#
- Support the planning and execution of professional development events and educational activities.
- Apply project management and evaluation skills to ongoing work.
- Analyze findings to help inform strategic planning.
- Create tools and resources for program planning, implementation, and evaluation.
- Develop presentations that summarize project progress and findings.
- Host virtual events for the team.
- Collaborate with cross-functional groups to develop hands-on learning experiences.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a Master’s program that requires an experiential learning or practicum component.
- Strong organization and attention to detail.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
- Proficiency with Microsoft 365 products like Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Interest in or familiarity with program planning, evaluation, and event hosting.
- Ability to work well within and across different teams.
Location & details#
- This is an on-site, full-time paid placement located in Toronto, Ontario.
- The term runs from January to April 2027.
- This position is open to students residing in Ontario and attending a Canadian academic institution.
