About the role#
Public Health Ontario is hiring a Finance Student to support the Accounts Payable department. This is a full-time, 5-month fixed-term position based in Toronto. You will work 36.25 hours per week. The role focuses on routine financial operations and administrative support.
What you'll do#
- Assist with daily financial and administrative tasks.
- Enter and validate data in financial systems and spreadsheets.
- Organize financial documentation and prepare supporting schedules.
- Help with reconciliations and transaction reviews.
- Review and reconcile purchasing card transactions.
- Process employee travel and expense claims.
- Draft and update standard operating procedures.
- Prepare journal entries and investigate balance sheet variances.
- Support inventory management projects and internal control framework tasks.
- Participate in team meetings and general administrative activities.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment as a student in Finance, Accounting, or Business Administration.
- Ability to handle routine financial tasks.
- Proficiency with financial systems and spreadsheets.
- Experience with data entry and validation.
- Analytical skills for reconciliations and transaction reviews.
- Willingness to learn journal entries and account reconciliations.

- Compensation: $17.60 - $17.75 per hour.
