About the role#
This is a casual, on-call internship at the Dawson City Community Hospital. You will report to the Operations Leader and assist with First Nations Health Programs. The role provides exposure to various hospital units and includes professional and personal development opportunities. This is a paid position with an hourly rate between $28.69 and $36.30.
What you'll do#
- Help with administrative tasks for First Nations Health Programs.
- Perform cleaning and cultural program duties.
- Provide general support to different units across the hospital.
- Participate in development opportunities and training.
- Complete general support tasks as assigned.
What you'll need#
- You must be between 16 and 35 years of age.
- At least one year of general work experience.
- A motivation to learn about health care and pursue a career in the field.
- Willingness to complete development training, including computer literacy and medical terminology courses.
- Ability to work well in a team, multitask, and provide basic customer service.
- Cross-cultural awareness and an understanding of Indigenous values.
- Preference is given to applicants with First Nations ancestry.
