About the role#
Providence Medical Center is seeking a Pharmacy Intern to gain hands-on clinical experience within a hospital pharmacy environment. This position involves supporting pharmacists in drug distribution and patient care across various age groups, including neonates, pediatrics, adolescents, adults, and geriatrics. All duties are performed under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist in accordance with state regulations.
What you'll do#
- Assist pharmacists with drug distribution systems, patient counseling, and pharmacokinetic calculations.
- Prepare dosages and sterile admixtures using aseptic techniques.
- Verify, fill, and package prescriptions.
- Manage inventory, including controlled substances distribution, stocking, and medication storage inspections.
- Participate in performance improvement projects and data collection activities.
- Maintain department cleanliness and handle billing and documentation tasks.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment as a pharmacy student.
- Valid State Board of Pharmacy Certificate of Pharmacy Intern.
- Knowledge of aseptic techniques for sterile admixture.
- Familiarity with inventory control and medication storage regulations.
- Ability to assist with drug distribution systems.
