About the role#
As an Internal Audit and Financial Advisory Intern, you will work with clients to solve complex business problems. You will gain experience across various industries, grow your technical and professional capabilities, and build leadership skills. This role involves participating in project experiences assigned by Talent Managers, receiving hands-on training, and working with advisors to navigate challenges. You will also have the opportunity to join committees and participate in employee network groups.
Interns are hired into one of two areas:
- Business Process Audit and Advisory: You will analyze business processes, identify and mitigate emerging risks, and help clients meet regulatory and compliance requirements.
- Technology Audit and Advisory: You will assess and advise on the technology landscape, including cybersecurity, AI risk, data governance, and cloud.
What you'll do#
- Collaborate with teams to deliver client-focused solutions.
- Participate in the Liftoff with Protiviti onboarding and The Intern Challenge experiential learning course.
- Use AI tools to improve the quality of insights and outcomes for clients.
- Evaluate, synthesize, and interpret data effectively.
- Contribute ideas and learn through real-world work.
- Seek feedback and guidance to strengthen your performance.
What you'll need#
- Currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree program in Accounting, Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering, Finance, Information Systems, Information Technology, Management Information Systems, or a related field.
- Expected to graduate within 12 months after the internship ends.
- Authorization to work in the United States without sponsorship.
- Proficiency in AI tools like Microsoft Copilot or GenAI for analytical tasks.
- Experience with Microsoft Office Suite, Power BI, and an interest in automation technologies like Alteryx, MS Power Platform, or Python.
- Entry-level knowledge of software development methodologies and internal audit processes.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively both in teams and independently.
Location & details#
- Location: Chicago, Illinois.
- Work Modality: Hybrid, involving a mix of in-person work in local offices, client sites, and remote work.
- Compensation: $28/hr - $38/hr.
- Employment Type: Full-time.
