About the role#
The Urban Planning Intern will work with the Urban Planning Practice Leader, Project Managers, and planners on projects focused on housing, redevelopment, and neighborhood revitalization. You will contribute to master plans, zoning modernization, and community engagement efforts in a hybrid, full-time role during the summer of 2027.
What you'll do#
- Conduct housing market, demographic, and spatial analyses using public and proprietary data.
- Support development feasibility and pro forma modeling.
- Research and summarize housing policies, incentive programs, and financing tools.
- Prepare technical writing for plans, strategies, and funding applications.
- Create maps, charts, and visual materials for presentations and reports.
- Assist with public and stakeholder engagement meetings.
- Coordinate tasks and provide progress updates to senior staff and Project Managers.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in a Bachelor’s degree program in Urban Planning, Architecture, Political Science, Real Estate, or Economics.
- Completion of at least one year of undergraduate studies by Summer 2027.
- Strong analytical, design, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to communicate well.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Experience with Microsoft Project, SharePoint, and Teams is preferred.
