About the role#
This is a paid, full-time summer internship for students pursuing a degree in Electrical Engineering. You will join our team in Charlotte to design electrical systems for various building types. You will work alongside experienced mentors on real client projects, including power distribution, lighting, fire alarm, security, and communication systems. This role is a hybrid position.
What you'll do#
- Help the project team meet schedules and budgets.
- Manage multiple projects by monitoring progress against scope and resources.
- Provide drafting services and prepare final engineering documents.
- Assist in creating building models, contract documents, and photometric lighting simulations.
- Check code compliance for electrical systems and coordinate with other disciplines.
- Collaborate with project managers, designers, and technical leaders to track design and budget changes.
- Use software including Revit, AutoCAD, ElumTools, Visual Lighting Software, and Easy Power for production.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in an EAC/ABET-accredited Electrical Engineering Bachelor’s degree program.
- Completion of at least one year of undergraduate studies by Summer 2027.
- Strong math, analytical, design, and problem-solving skills.
- Good communication skills.
- Basic knowledge of sustainability and current trends in the design and construction industry.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, specifically Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Experience with Project, SharePoint, and Teams is preferred.
