About the role#
Progressive Companies offers a paid, full-time summer internship for students interested in civil engineering. You will work alongside experienced mentors on client projects to learn design and engineering methods. This role involves collaboration with project managers to complete plan designs and production for various civil engineering projects.
What you'll do#
- Support the project team in meeting schedules and budget requirements.
- Manage multiple projects while monitoring progress against scope and resources.
- Provide drafting services and create final engineering documents that meet company standards.
- Assist with calculations and analyses for storm water management, water supply, sanitary sewer, roadways, and traffic studies.
- Prepare construction permitting documents.
- Compile intersection crash data and create collision diagrams.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in an EAC/ABET-accredited Civil or Environmental Engineering Bachelor’s degree program.
- Completion of at least one year of undergraduate studies by Summer 2027.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Strong math, analytical, design, and problem-solving skills.
- Good communication skills.
- Basic knowledge of sustainability and current trends in the design and construction industry.
- Previous experience with AutoCAD Civil3D is a plus.
- Experience with Project, SharePoint, and Teams is preferred.
