About the role#
The Process Engineering Intern will contribute to process optimization and safety improvements in a manufacturing environment. This hands-on position provides a view of the engineering lifecycle through both lab-scale and plant-scale work. You will focus on improving efficiency, updating technical documentation, and enhancing safety measures.
What you'll do#
- Conduct lab-scale and plant-scale testing for ion exchange and malic crystallization optimization.
- Update Process & Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs) to reflect current plant configurations.
- Identify and implement safety improvements within the facility.
- Assist in the automation of crude solution filtration processes.
What you'll need#
- Pursuing an engineering degree in Chemical, Mechanical, or a related field.
- Curiosity, self-motivation, and an eagerness to learn.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work well in a team environment.
Location & details#
- Location: Duluth, Minnesota.
- Term: Summer 2027.
- Modality: On-site.
- Employment: Full time, paid position at $24.00/hr plus overtime.
- Additional benefits include a housing stipend ranging from $1,500 to $3,000 based on work and location.
