About the role#
This internship provides insight into the banking industry through on-the-job training and formal activities. You will gain hands-on experience with credit analyst and lending teams while observing how departments like Treasury Management, Premier Services, Private Banking, and Merchant Services work together to serve customers.
What you'll do#
- Observe the daily work of Loan Officers and Credit Analysts through mentorship.
- Practice spreading financial statements and underwriting loans across different industries.
- Participate in loan committee meetings to understand the approval process.
- Review loan set-up worksheets and assist in completing loan packages for the Loan Services department.
- Research industries to understand the Bank’s target customer profile and prepare prospect materials.
- Network with leaders in the lending division and meet with product partners.
- Build skills in interacting with employees, vendors, and clients.
- Perform analysis and formulate questions to support the underwriting of loan requests.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in a four-year, accredited college or university.
- Good academic standing at your institution.
- A major or concentration in Finance or Accounting is strongly preferred.
- Excellent PC skills, including Microsoft Office products, spreadsheets, and word processing.
- Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Proven customer service and teamwork abilities from previous work, internships, or extracurricular activities.
- Eligibility to work for any employer in the U.S. without sponsorship now or in the future.
