About the role#
This internship provides insight into the banking industry through hands-on experience and training. You will work alongside credit analyst and lending teams to understand how different departments operate to serve customers. You will also observe how the bank builds relationships through client presentations and networking events.
What you'll do#
- Observe the daily work of Loan Officers and Credit Analysts with guidance from experienced mentors.
- Participate in loan committee meetings to see the loan approval process firsthand.
- Practice spreading financial statements and underwriting loans of varying complexity.
- Prepare loan packages for the Loan Services department and review set-up worksheets for accuracy.
- Research industries to understand the bank's target customer profile.
- Interact with employees, vendors, and clients to develop professional communication skills.
- Network with leaders in the lending division and learn about complementary services.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in a four-year, accredited college or university.
- Good academic standing at your institution.
- A major or concentration in Finance or Accounting is strongly preferred.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office products, specifically word processing and spreadsheets.
- Strong teamwork and customer service skills gained through work, internships, or extracurricular activities.
