About the role#
The Associate Director of Student Financial Counseling & Outreach serves as a key member of the management team within the Office of Student Financial Services. You will work closely with the Director to develop and implement policies, procedures, and communication plans that support University goals. This role involves leading the counseling and outreach team while acting as a primary point of contact for student financial aid concerns.
What you'll do#
- Provide daily leadership, mentoring, and coordination for the financial counseling and outreach team.
- Serve as the primary contact for troubleshooting student financial aid concerns and resolving sensitive issues.
- Conduct Financial Aid 101 workshops, financial literacy trainings, and High School Financial Aid Nights.
- Assess the success of programming and events through surveys and report findings.
- Create, manage, and revise the policies and procedures manual for student outreach programs.
- Collaborate with campus partners, including Academic Advising and Career Services, to integrate support services.
- Design and develop a non-credit financial literacy course in both synchronous and asynchronous formats.
What you'll need#
- Bachelor's degree.
- Seven years of related experience.
- Knowledge of student financial aid processes and related federal and state regulations.
- Demonstrated leadership ability and the capacity to solve complex problems.
- Strong organizational, oral, and written communication skills.
- Proficiency in word processing, spreadsheet, and database applications.
