About the role#
PPL Corporation is hiring a Nuclear Engineering Intern to join our R&D Department. This position begins in January 2027. We are looking for students interested in clean energy technologies like energy storage, green hydrogen, carbon capture, and wind or solar power. This is a paid, on-site internship that offers the potential for full-time employment after graduation.
What you'll do#
- Plan and control all activities to maintain an accident-free workplace.
- Use engineering and scientific principles to plan projects, collect data, and write professional reports.
- Gather and analyze data using established procedures.
- Coordinate research project results and present summaries to management.
- Identify opportunities to improve current methods.
- Perform engineering assignments, including tests, calculations, and analysis.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in a Bachelor's or Master's degree program for Nuclear Engineering from an ABET accredited school.
- A GPA of 3.50 or higher.
- Availability to work part-time during the semester and full-time during the summer.
Location & details#
- This role is based on-site in Allentown, PA, Johnston, RI, Louisville, KY, or Lexington, KY.
- The internship spans the Winter 2027 and Summer 2027 terms.
- Travel may be required for clean energy R&D projects, with all expenses covered by the company.
