About the role#
As a National Tax Office & Transactional Specialist Intern, you will work alongside entry-level staff to provide tax solutions for a variety of clients. You will gain exposure to both tax and consulting service lines while contributing to engagement teams. This is a paid, full-time position that requires on-site attendance.
What you'll do#
- Consider tax issues associated with mergers and acquisitions.
- Research complex tax issues and write technical memorandum.
- Assist with international tax structuring and operational issues.
- Prepare tax returns and serve as an integral part of engagement teams.
- Draft internal and external tax alerts regarding current developments and emerging planning techniques.
- Assist with internal tax education functions and handle tax aspects of transactions.
What you'll need#
- Pursuing a Bachelor's degree with an emphasis in accounting, or a Master's degree in accounting or tax.
- Must be pursuing a LLM, JD, or CPA license.
- Minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0.
- Strong interest in tax law, supported by completed or planned coursework.
- Detail-oriented leadership with problem-solving, communication, and analytical skills.
- Legal authorization to work in the United States without sponsorship.
Location & details#
This role is located in Ann Arbor, Auburn Hills, Cincinnati, Cleveland, Columbus, Denver Tech Center, Detroit, East Lansing, Flint, Fort Collins, Grand Rapids, Kalamazoo, Macomb, Schaumburg, Southfield, Toledo, Traverse City, and Chicago. The position may require local, national, and occasional international travel. Work hours may exceed the standard 40-hour work week.
