About the role#
As a National Tax Office & Transactional Specialist Intern, you will work alongside engagement teams to provide financial solutions for a diverse range of clients. You will be treated as an entry-level staff member, gaining hands-on experience in tax consulting and transactional services. This is a paid, full-time position that requires an on-site presence. Please note that this role may require work hours exceeding 40 hours per week and may involve local, national, or international travel.
What you'll do#
- Analyze tax issues related to mergers and acquisitions.
- Research complex tax topics and draft technical memoranda.
- Assist with international tax structuring and operational tax matters.
- Prepare tax returns and contribute to engagement team projects.
- Support National Tax Office functions, including writing internal and external tax alerts on current developments and planning techniques.
- Participate in internal tax education initiatives and handle tax aspects of transactions.
What you'll need#
- Current pursuit of a Bachelor's degree with an emphasis in accounting, or a Master's degree in accounting or tax.
- Active pursuit of a LLM, JD, or CPA license.
- A minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0.
- Strong interest in tax law, evidenced by relevant coursework.
- Detail-oriented approach with proven problem-solving, communication, and analytical skills.
- Legal authorization to work in the United States without sponsorship.

This role is available in the following locations: Ann Arbor, Auburn Hills, Cincinnati, Cleveland, Columbus, Denver Tech Center, Detroit, East Lansing, Flint, Fort Collins, Grand Rapids, Kalamazoo, Macomb, Schaumburg, Southfield, Toledo, Traverse City, and Chicago (Riverside Plaza).
