About the role#
As a 2027 Audit or Tax Intern at Plante Moran, you will be treated like entry-level staff, gaining exposure to professional services without busy work. You will help clients maintain their financial health and work on a variety of business opportunities. This is a full-time, paid internship with a rolling application term.
What you'll do#
- Participate in various phases of audit and tax engagements.
- Assist with planning, testing, research, and reporting tasks.
- Work on compilations, reviews, compliance, financial statements, and benefit plans.
- Engage in corporate, partnership, individual, international federal, and state and local tax projects.
- Interact with staff at all levels and work directly with a diverse range of clients.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree with an emphasis in accounting, or a Master’s degree in accounting or tax.
- A minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0.
- Strong leadership, problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.
- Candidates must be on track to complete the necessary degree and credits to sit for the CPA exam, with the goal of obtaining licensure.
- Legal authorization to work in the United States without sponsorship is required.

- Work Modality: This position follows a principally in-person model with flexibility for hybrid work as determined by your team.
- Locations: Ann Arbor, Auburn Hills, Chicago, Cincinnati, Cleveland, Columbus, Denver, Detroit, East Lansing, Flint, Fort Collins, Grand Rapids, Kalamazoo, Macomb, Schaumburg, Southfield, Toledo, Traverse City, and Wakefield.
- Travel: The role may require local, national, and occasional international travel.
- Hours: This is a non-exempt position that may require working more than 40 hours per week.
