About the role#
As a Tax Solutions Group Intern, you will be integrated into the team as a member of our staff, moving beyond administrative tasks to contribute directly to client projects. You will gain exposure to tax consulting service lines while working on financial solutions for our clients. This is a full-time, paid internship.
What you'll do#
- Focus on projects including cost segregation, fixed asset recovery periods, capitalization versus expense analysis, R&D tax credits, and domestic producer activities deduction.
- Work directly with clients to identify and resolve issues as they emerge.
- Maintain a current understanding of tax codes, regulations, and administrative pronouncements related to tax incentives.
- Assist clients in ensuring proper documentation of credits and deductions in accordance with IRS regulations.
- Develop professional relationships with clients and staff through networking and business development activities.
What you'll need#
- Pursuit of a Bachelor's degree with an emphasis in accounting, or a Master's degree in accounting or tax.
- A minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0.
- Progress toward completing the necessary credits to sit for the CPA exam, with the intent to obtain a CPA license.
- Strong communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work as a detail-oriented team member.
Location & details#
This position operates on a hybrid model, balancing in-person collaboration with flexibility. It may require work hours exceeding 40 hours per week and some local, national, or international travel. We are hiring for locations in Ann Arbor, Auburn Hills, Cincinnati, Cleveland, Columbus, Denver Tech Center, Detroit, East Lansing, Flint, Fort Collins, Grand Rapids, Kalamazoo, Macomb, Schaumburg, Southfield, Toledo, Traverse City, and Chicago Riverside Plaza.
