About the role#
The Development Grants Intern gains a practical understanding of fundraising processes. You will assist with donor research, grant identification, and stewardship. This role supports the development team by maintaining donor records and helping with communication efforts.
What you'll do#
- Identify at least 20 new prospective foundation donors.
- Find and present at least 10 new, actionable grant opportunities.
- Research profile data for existing donors, including funding priorities and key contacts.
- Write donor briefs and opportunity summaries.
- Draft emails regarding recurring donation cancellations.
- Partner with the communications team to develop social media strategies and emails for donor outreach.
- Prepare workplace giving reports.
- Assist with the donor acknowledgment process and Liberty Circle stewardship mailings.
- Provide support during development-led events and assist team members with daily tasks.
What you'll need#
- Current college student or recent graduate.
- Interest in development, fundraising, events, or reproductive health and justice.
- Commitment to the mission and goals of the organization.
- Ability to commit to at least 25 hours per week during business hours.
- Strong written and oral communication skills.
- Organizational skills.
- Previous experience with fundraising, events, or research is helpful but not required.

- Location: Washington, District of Columbia.
- Modality: On-site.
- Compensation: 17.95 to 20.95 USD per hour.
- Schedule: Part-time, minimum 25 hours per week.
