About the role#
This 10-week summer internship program provides an introduction to the Fixed Income Services business line. Interns work alongside professionals across multiple areas, including Municipal Underwriting and Trading, Credit Trading, Fixed Income Strategy and Analytics, Treasury Trading, Agency Underwriting and Trading, Mortgage-Backed Securities, Public Finance Investment Banking, Fixed Income Sales, High Yield Special Situations, and Risk Management. The program includes a Senior Management speaker series, desk teach-ins, a community service project, and presentation skills training.
What you'll do#
- Develop an understanding of client verticals and how they interact with fixed income products.
- Support the financial strategies team with assigned projects.
- Utilize back-office systems and coordinate with support groups.
- Assist the sales team and learn how to sell products to the buyside.
- Support trading and underwriting teams with the new issue and secondary market process.
- Assist with the publication of weekly commentary.
- Complete a final Capstone project with fellow interns.
What you'll need#
- Rising junior or rising senior status.
- A GPA of 3.0 or above.
- An interest in finance and financial markets.
- Ability to prepare for and take the SIE exam.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Microsoft PowerPoint, and Tableau.
- Attention to detail and a strong work ethic.
- Leadership skills and the ability to work effectively on a team.
- Majors in Finance, Business Administration, Economics, Mathematics, or Statistics are preferred.
