About the role#
The Finance and Risk Management Department is looking for a part-time intern to join the Internal Audit, Procedures and Training Division. You will support the team by evaluating and documenting processes and internal controls for various County departments. This role offers the chance to gain practical experience while working under the supervision of an internal audit supervisor or an internal auditor II.
What you'll do#
- Evaluate and document internal processes and controls for County departments.
- Perform financial data analysis.
- Examine compliance with laws, regulations, contracts, grant terms, and bond requirements.
- Review internal controls for computer software used by the County.
- Collaborate as a member of an internal audit team.
What you'll need#
- You are a current junior or senior pursuing a bachelors degree or higher in accounting or finance at an accredited institution.
- Alternatively, you have graduated from an accredited institution within the past 12 months with a degree in accounting or finance.
- Experience with cash handling, accounts payable, or accounts receivable.
