About the role#
The City of Doraville is hiring a Finance Intern to assist the Finance Department. This is a paid, part-time position scheduled for approximately 29 hours per week. You will report to the Finance Director and focus on transitioning Occupational Tax data between software systems.
What you'll do#
Your primary project is converting Occupational Tax data from BS&A software to IworQ. You will download documents, organize files, and ensure data integrity between these systems. Beyond this project, you will handle general administrative and customer-facing tasks. This includes answering phone calls, taking messages, and responding to inquiries. You will also manage filing systems, enter data, and distribute correspondence as needed.
What you'll need#
We are looking for students or graduates in Finance, Business Administration, or Accounting. You should be comfortable with MS Office, email, and general internet use. Success in this role requires strong attention to detail, accurate keyboard skills, and the ability to prioritize tasks. You must be at least 18 years old and able to work both independently and with a team. You should also have strong communication skills and be ready to adapt to changing business needs. Candidates must pass a pre-employment background check, which includes a physical exam, drug screening, and an oral interview.
Location & details#
This role is based on-site in Doraville, Georgia. You must be able to perform physical tasks such as lifting or carrying objects weighing up to 20 pounds. The work environment may occasionally involve exposure to various environmental conditions or noise levels.
