About the role#
This internship provides an opportunity to support the safety and occupational health team at a food and beverage manufacturing facility. You will contribute to accident and illness prevention programs, conduct risk assessments, and help maintain a secure environment for all team members. This role is paid and requires on-site attendance during the Fall 2026 term.
What you'll do#
- Support the safety and occupational health team in daily operations.
- Assist in the improvement of accident and illness prevention programs.
- Conduct hazard and risk assessments throughout the facility.
- Prepare and submit safety reports for management review.
- Investigate accidents and track the progress of corrective actions.
- Help manage safety programs, including exposure control, hazard communication, respiratory protection, and hearing conservation.
- Participate in safety training sessions and promote safety awareness.
- Perform regular plant safety inspections.
- Help establish standards for personal protective equipment and machine guarding.
- Support the development of ergonomics programs and review new or modified equipment for safety.
- Assist with Workers Compensation and safety committee activities.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in a four-year university or pursuit of a bachelor degree, preferably in Environmental Engineering, Civil Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Business Administration, or Public Health.
- A minimum GPA of 2.5.
- The physical ability to lift 50 lbs or more.

- Compensation: $22 per hour plus a $2,500 relocation stipend.
