About the role#
This internship offers hands-on experience in logistics management. You will work with management mentors on projects involving cost savings, sourcing, supply chain management, and waste reduction. You will rotate through various departments to gain a broad understanding of our operations. The role requires a commitment of up to 20 hours per week, typically Monday through Friday.
What you'll do#
- Collaborate with mentors on special projects and ad hoc studies.
- Communicate performance standards and provide feedback or recognition to associates.
- Evaluate and recommend changes to work methods to improve productivity.
- Provide relief coverage for operational duties.
- Maintain and use site operating systems to ensure compliance and resolve exceptions.
- Complete necessary records and reports accurately.
- Ensure activities align with location safety strategies and regulatory requirements.
- Monitor inventory accuracy and understand the link between decisions and profitability.
- Identify areas for continuous improvement and plan equipment use effectively.
What you'll need#
- Current pursuit of a degree in Supply Chain Management, Operations Management, or Business Administration.
- High school diploma.
- Basic computer skills in Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, Access, and PowerPoint.
- Ability to learn and use proprietary software.
- Capacity to lead a small team and work independently.
- Strong organizational, time management, and multi-tasking skills.
- Flexibility to rotate through different shifts and travel as necessary.
- Ability to work in non-climate controlled conditions.
- Willingness to undergo a background investigation and drug screening.
- Ability to lift and move up to 50 lbs regularly and up to 100 lbs occasionally.
