About the role#
As a Product Engineering Intern, you will work on projects similar to those assigned to entry-level engineers. You will partner with an assigned manager and mentor to gain hands-on experience in product development and engineering processes. This role is based in Macomb, Illinois, and requires a full-time commitment for at least 10 weeks during the summer of 2027.
What you'll do#
- Support engineering projects focused on quality, cost, performance, and product improvement.
- Apply engineering principles and problem-solving techniques to assigned tasks.
- Partner with engineering and cross-functional teams to support business initiatives.
- Utilize engineering tools, technologies, and processes to deliver project results.
- Analyze data and communicate your findings and recommendations.
- Gain exposure to product development within the fenestration industry.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a bachelor's degree in Computer, Electrical, Mechanical, Chemical, or Industrial Engineering, or Mathematics.
- Strong academic standing.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to learn new technologies and systems.
- Ability to succeed in a collaborative, team-based environment.
- Previous internship or co-op experience is preferred.
Location & details#
- Location: Macomb, Illinois (on-site).
- Term: Summer 2027 (End of May to early August).
- Compensation: $27.90 per hour.
- Work environment: You may work in office, laboratory, and manufacturing settings with periodic exposure to production equipment.
- Physical requirements: Occasional lifting of materials up to 30 pounds may be required.
- Note: A post-offer background check and drug screen are required. This is a tobacco-free work environment.
