About the role#
PCL Construction is hiring an Engineering Student for a 4-month term starting in January 2027. This is a full-time, paid position based on-site in Halifax, Nova Scotia. You will work within the Canadian Buildings sector to gain hands-on experience on active construction projects.
What you'll do#
- Conduct deficiency walks and maintain deficiency logs.
- Coordinate and supervise sub-trade work and specific project scopes.
- Perform quantity take-offs and conduct trade quote reviews by verifying material quantities, rates, and hours.
- Verify site conditions against project drawings.
- Mark up, update, and produce as-built drawings.
- Coordinate quality assurance reviews and track site progress through photos and documentation.
- Participate in project meetings and manage record keeping.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in a degree or diploma program related to civil engineering.
- Experience with word processing, spreadsheet, and drafting software.
- A self-motivated, hands-on approach to work.
- A genuine interest in the construction environment.
- Previous field experience in construction is an asset.
