About the role#
This internship program offers a direct look at the work of a Machine Learning Engineer at PathAI. You will join our AI product and ML Core teams, contributing to active projects that shape our technical roadmap. You will work alongside scientists, engineers, and product managers to turn clinical needs into scalable machine learning solutions.
What you'll do#
- Design, develop, and evaluate machine learning models for our AI products and services.
- Take on subprojects from our ML product roadmap.
- Partner with our MLOps and platform teams to improve our ML pipelines.
- Join in on experimental design, analysis, and team knowledge-sharing sessions like design reviews and journal clubs.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in a M.S. or Ph.D. program in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or Biomedical Engineering.
- A specific focus on Computer Vision and Machine Learning.
- Strong Python programming skills.
- Hands-on experience with frameworks such as PyTorch or TensorFlow.
- A solid grasp of machine learning or computer vision fundamentals.
- Excellent communication skills and a desire to work in a collaborative environment.
- A commitment to improving patient lives.
- Preference is given to candidates with experience in complex open-source projects, AI products, student leadership, or AI/ML publications.
Location & details#
- This is a paid, full-time position for Fall 2026 or Winter 2027.
- We are looking for a commitment of 3 to 6 months, with 4 to 6 months preferred.
- Work can be performed in Boston, MA, New York, NY, or remotely within the US.
- Being onsite 3 days a week is highly preferred for those near our offices.
