About the role#
This internship is part of the SAP Internship Experience Program. You will work within the AI and Machine Learning division, acting as a bridge between technical teams and product management. The role focuses on coordinating the lifecycle of AI projects, from initial data collection to final deployment, while ensuring cross-functional teams remain aligned on project goals.
What you'll do#
- Drive projects through the various phases of machine learning development.
- Act as the connective tissue between ML engineers, software engineers, product managers, and data teams.
- Monitor specific AI project milestones, such as dataset readiness, model evaluation metrics, and inference latency goals.
- Identify bottlenecks in data pipelines or compute resources and escalate issues to senior leadership.
- Propose lightweight workflows to improve team collaboration and streamline model iteration.
- Maintain project wikis, status reports, and technical documentation including model cards and data dictionaries.
- Build reports and updates for the SAP leadership team.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Data Science, or a related field.
- Solid foundational understanding of AI, machine learning, and data analytics concepts.
- Comprehension of software development lifecycles and agile methodologies.
- Experience building applications using Agentic engineering tools like Claude Code.
- Previous internship, research, or project experience in ML, Data Science, or AI infrastructure.
- Knowledge of the AI ecosystem, including frameworks like Langchain and platforms such as GCP, Azure, or AWS.
- Familiarity with data privacy, responsible AI practices, and model evaluation metrics.
- Proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
- Demonstrated leadership in university clubs, hackathons, or group projects.
