About the role#
We are looking for a Site Reliability Engineer Intern to join our AI Compute team. You will support the daily operations of our AI infrastructure by working with internal teams and engineering partners. This is a hands-on role focused on building and operating systems that power AI development.
What you'll do#
- Support the deployment, configuration, and maintenance of high-performance servers, storage, networking equipment, and software.
- Assist with hardware diagnostics, system checks, and firmware updates.
- Collaborate with engineering teams to deliver tailored environments like bare-metal systems, Kubernetes, or Slurm.
- Provide first-line engineering support for operational issues, including troubleshooting hardware, network, and software problems.
- Document incident details and resolutions to improve future problem-solving.
- Maintain accurate, up-to-date documentation for the team.
- Participate in team meetings and knowledge-sharing sessions.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing or recently finished a Bachelor's or Master's degree in computer engineering, computer science, or a related field.
- Basic understanding of server hardware, firmware lifecycles, and Linux environments.
- Awareness of physical and system-level security standards.
- Exposure to scripting in Bash or Python.
- Familiarity with or interest in configuration management, CI/CD tools, workload managers like Slurm or Kubernetes, and observability tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, or ELK.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Professional fluency in English and Mandarin is highly preferred.
- Coursework or projects related to AI infrastructure, distributed systems, or cloud infrastructure.
- Familiarity with networking fundamentals and Linux administration.
Location & details#
- This is an on-site position based in Palo Alto, California.
- This is a full-time, paid internship.
- Compensation ranges from $27.12 to $51.93 per hour, depending on experience and skills.
- Interns earn 1 hour of paid sick leave for every 30 hours worked and receive up to 13 paid holidays.
- Full-time interns are eligible to enroll in the company-sponsored medical plan.
