About the role#
HCIactive is looking for an AI Developer Intern to join our team for a 90-day internship. This role is a trial period with the intent to transition into a full-time position if the fit is strong. You will work on-site in Ellicott City, Maryland, using our established AI-first development workflows.
What you'll do#
- Adopt and use our mature AI development toolkits, coding standards, and engineering patterns.
- Work with internal team members, external stakeholders, and users.
- Demonstrate your technical ability, communication skills, and initiative.
- Show alignment with our AI-first development approach.
What you'll need#
- A strong foundation in computer science, including software design, algorithms, and debugging.
- Graduation or expected graduation no later than December 2026.
- Excellent communication skills for both internal and external interactions.
- A desire to work with AI-powered software development.
- Ability to learn quickly, follow established patterns, and adapt to shifting priorities.
- Ability to take initiative and move work forward independently.
- Legal authorization to work in the United States at the time of hire.
