About the role#
The Student Development Representative assists prospective and continuing students within a centralized advising support center. This role focuses on promoting student outreach and retention while performing clerical and record-keeping duties across student development departments. You will utilize technology to enhance processes and maintain data integrity for student success platforms.
What you'll do#
- Welcome guests and provide information on College rules, requirements, and services.
- Assist students with issues via in-person visits, phone calls, email, and online chat.
- Maintain user access to student success platforms and support data reporting needs.
- Input student information into databases and guide students through application and registration portals.
- Review documents for completeness and accuracy, and make appropriate departmental referrals.
- Schedule student appointments and manage service requests.
- Attend meetings and training sessions to maintain current knowledge of college systems.
What you'll need#
- High school diploma or GED.
- One year of related experience.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Professional or similar applications.
- Ability to deliver a high level of customer service.
- Strong attention to detail with effective time and task management skills.
- Ability to communicate effectively with diverse populations and prioritize competing tasks.
- Must complete FERPA training within 30 days of employment.
