About the role#
As a Student Development Advisor at Palm Beach State College, you will support students through their academic journey. You will act as a primary point of contact for an assigned caseload, helping them navigate program selection, enrollment, and degree completion. This role involves working with a diverse student body to identify barriers to success and building individual academic plans.
What you'll do#
- Guide students through program selection, planning, and enrollment processes.
- Create and maintain an individualized Guided Pathway for each student in your caseload.
- Analyze test results and review transcripts to determine appropriate course placement.
- Manage assigned projects, including the preparation of communications and reports.
- Advise students on prerequisites, major selection, and academic requirements.
- Support new student orientation and conduct workshops for students and parents.
- Counsel students on their transition to the college environment.
What you'll need#
- A Bachelor’s degree.
- At least one year of related experience.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Professional or similar software.
- Understanding of the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA).
- Ability to communicate effectively with diverse populations.
- Skill in managing competing priorities and maintaining attention to detail.

- Work Modality: This position offers flexibility with on-site, remote, and hybrid options.
- Schedule: Full-time. You must be available to work evenings, weekends, and potentially holidays.
