Software Engineer, Internship - Production Infrastructure

About the role#

Software Engineers in the Production Infrastructure organization build the foundation for mission-critical workloads. You will contribute to platforms like Apollo and Rubix, which support complex microservice suites and fleet-wide deployment for government and civil agencies. You will be paired with a mentor to help you navigate the product lifecycle while working on infrastructure that powers data-driven operations.

What you'll do#

• Own every phase of the product lifecycle, from generating ideas and designing prototypes to executing features and shipping releases.
• Collaborate with Software Engineers, Product Managers, Designers, and Product Reliability Engineers to solve real customer problems.
• Work alongside technical and non-technical colleagues to understand user needs.
• Gain firsthand insight by partnering directly with vendors or observing operations in the field to deploy software.
• Manage your own time and priorities within a team that values autonomy over micromanagement.

What you'll need#

• An engineering background in Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics, Computer Engineering, Data Science, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Statistics.
• Experience coding in languages such as Java, C++, Python, or JavaScript.
• Familiarity with technical tools including data structures, storage systems, cloud infrastructure, and front-end frameworks.
• Must be planning to graduate in 2028.
• Active US Security clearance, or the eligibility and willingness to obtain one.
