Software Engineer, Internship - Defense Tech

About the role#

As a Software Engineer Intern within the Defense Tech vertical, you will contribute directly to Palantir's Gotham product. You will work in small, focused teams to build mission-critical software that enables partners to integrate data, perform complex analysis, and develop tools for resource allocation and operational planning. This role involves end-to-end product development, from initial design and prototyping to final execution and shipping.

What you'll do#

• Support the delivery of defense capabilities to mission partners.
• Participate in the full product lifecycle, including idea generation, design, and implementation.
• Collaborate with both technical and non-technical counterparts to understand and solve complex customer problems.
• Write clean, effective code and demonstrate the ability to learn new programming languages and technologies quickly.
• Work within small teams to focus on specific aspects of product development.

What you'll need#

• Current enrollment in an engineering-related field, including Computer Science, Mathematics, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or Physics.
• Graduation date planned for 2028.
• Proficiency in at least one programming language such as Java, C++, Python, or JavaScript.
• Familiarity with technical fundamentals, including data structures, storage systems, cloud infrastructure, and front-end frameworks.
• Ability to obtain or maintain an active US Security clearance.
• Strong communication skills to collaborate effectively across diverse teams.
