About the role#
As a Product Design intern for the US Government team, you will contribute to the human experience of our software. You will operate within product teams with minimal supervision, taking ownership of the end-to-end execution of real product features. This role offers the resources and mentorship of an established tech company while allowing you to work alongside designers, product managers, and engineers to evolve the quality of our products.
What you'll do#
- Define early product concepts, flesh out high-level workflows, and design micro-interactions.
- Execute visual design and create effective user interfaces using tools such as Figma.
- Conduct informal user research, including interviews and usability tests, and combine qualitative findings with quantitative product metrics.
- Collaborate with product managers and engineers to prototype and build products.
- Apply knowledge of frontend technologies, such as HTML, CSS, Javascript, and Typescript, to facilitate collaboration with engineering teams.
What you'll need#
- Active US Security clearance or eligibility and willingness to obtain one.
- Current enrollment with a planned graduation date in 2028.
- A portfolio demonstrating at least one software interface design project.
- Ability to iterate quickly, validate ideas with stakeholders, and provide or receive design critiques.
- Strong communication skills and a commitment to understanding and empowering users.
