About the role#
As a Product Design intern for the US Government team, you will take on responsibilities similar to a full-time designer. You will work on product teams with minimal supervision, owning the end-to-end execution of real product features. You will collaborate closely with designers, product managers, and engineers to refine and evolve the quality of our software.
What you'll do#
- Lead design sprints and define early product concepts for your team.
- Execute interaction and visual design, including high-level workflows and micro-interactions.
- Conduct informal user research, pairing qualitative methods like usability tests with quantitative product and usage metrics.
- Advocate for design consistency by creating flexible and reusable UI components.
- Communicate design rationale and collaborate with engineers to prototype and build products.
What you'll need#
- Active US Security clearance or the eligibility and willingness to obtain one.
- Current enrollment with a planned graduation date in 2028.
- A portfolio demonstrating at least one software interface design project.
- Familiarity with design tools such as Figma.
- Basic familiarity with HTML, CSS, Javascript, and Typescript is appreciated to facilitate collaboration with engineering teams.
- Ability to work independently, ask questions, and incorporate feedback in an iterative process.

- This role is based on-site in Palo Alto, California.
- The position is a full-time, paid internship.
- Hiring is conducted on a rolling basis.
