Forward Deployed Software Engineer, Internship - USG

About the role#

As a Forward Deployed Software Engineer (FDSE) intern, you will work at the intersection of complex technical challenges and real-world impact. This role involves embedding directly with customers to understand their most pressing issues and architecting solutions that leverage business-critical data. You will operate with the autonomy of a startup while utilizing the resources of an established technology company, contributing to projects that influence critical industries and institutions.

What you'll do#

• Build software and deliver outcomes directly to customers.
• Help customers deploy AI-powered solutions to solve complex, real-world problems.
• Rapidly identify and address customer needs by building solutions that leverage integrated, cutting-edge AI.
• Contribute high-quality code directly to Palantir products such as Gotham, Foundry, or Apollo.
• Work within small, agile teams to own the end-to-end execution of high-stakes projects.

What you'll need#

• Pursuing or completed a degree in Engineering, specifically Computer Science, Mathematics, Software Engineering, Physics, or Data Science.
• Proficiency in one or more programming languages, such as Python, Java, C++, or TypeScript/JavaScript.
• Hands-on experience applying AI through coursework, personal projects, internships, or extracurricular activities.
• Familiarity with technical tools including data structures, storage systems, cloud infrastructure, and front-end frameworks.
• An active U.S. security clearance, or the eligibility and willingness to obtain one.
