Forward Deployed Software Engineer, Internship - US Government

About the role#

Forward Deployed Software Engineers (FDSEs) work directly with customers to understand complex problems and design technical solutions to address them. As an intern, you will function as a member of a small team, taking ownership of high-stakes projects from initial architecture to execution. You will gain insight into critical industries by applying technical skills to real-world data challenges.

What you'll do#

• Collaborate with internal teams, including engineers, product teams, and Deployment Strategists, as well as external customers.
• Execute end-to-end projects with minimal supervision, ranging from wrangling large-scale data and building custom web applications to establishing team strategy.
• Communicate with customer executives to understand requirements and iterate on solutions.
• Apply creativity and technical expertise to solve problems involving data structures, storage systems, cloud infrastructure, and front-end frameworks.

What you'll need#

• Pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Physics, Data Science, Computer Engineering, or Electrical Engineering, with an expected graduation in 2027.
• Proficiency in at least one programming language such as Python, Java, C++, or TypeScript/JavaScript.
• Ability to work independently, make decisions with minimal direction, and collaborate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Willingness to undergo a US government background investigation as required by specific projects.
• Interest in traveling to client sites, with an ability to travel 25-50% preferred.
