About the role#
Forward Deployed Software Engineers (FDSE) work directly with customers to understand their challenges and design technical solutions. You will apply problem-solving skills and creativity to help organizations use data to drive real-world impact. As an intern, you are treated like a full-time engineer, receiving significant freedom and ownership over your work while contributing to projects that customers rely on.
What you'll do#
- Work in small teams with minimal supervision to own the end-to-end execution of high-stakes projects.
- Discuss architecture with fellow engineers and establish strategy for your team.
- Wrangle massive-scale data and code custom web applications.
- Speak with customer executives to identify and solve complex problems.
- Collaborate with technical and non-technical individuals in an evolving environment.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a degree program with an expected graduation date in 2027.
- Engineering background, preferably in Computer Science, Mathematics, Software Engineering, Physics, or Data Science.
- Proficiency in one or more programming languages, such as Python, Java, C++, or TypeScript/JavaScript.
- Ability to work independently and make decisions with minimal direction.
- Interest in using large-scale data to solve business problems.
- Willingness to travel to client sites as needed (preferred 25-50% depending on the team).
