About the role#
As a Designer Intern, you will join the Marshfield design team to support our customers. You will work directly with clients and internal team members to evaluate project needs and expectations. This role involves creating packaging designs, building prototypes, and producing samples for customer review. You will also prepare CAD specifications for production and contribute to department and manufacturing efficiency.
What you'll do#
- Collaborate with customers and team members to assess design requirements.
- Design packaging and build physical prototypes.
- Create samples for customer submission.
- Ensure design solutions are both cost effective and visually appealing.
- Prepare CAD specifications for the production process.
- Partner with the team to fulfill customer requests.
- Provide input on optimizing manufacturing and department efficiency.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in the Packaging Engineering program at the University of Wisconsin - Stout.
- Knowledge of corrugated structural design principles.
- Proficiency in CAD software and Microsoft Office.
- Understanding of materials and manufacturing processes.
- Strong verbal and visual communication skills.
- Demonstrated critical thinking and creative problem solving skills.
- Ability to learn new concepts quickly.
- High attention to detail and a commitment to accurate work.
- Self-motivated with a strong work ethic.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and assignments at once.
