About the role#
Ovintiv is looking for summer students to join our Chief Digital Office. You will work with an experienced mentor on projects that support our operational and corporate teams. This role is for students interested in technology careers or engineering students who want to apply software, data, or digital skills to their work.
What you'll do#
- Support full-stack application development, workflow automation, and testing.
- Assist with data engineering, analytics, visualization, business intelligence, and AI solutions.
- Help with threat monitoring, vulnerability assessments, security technology administration, and incident response preparedness.
- Assist with cloud, infrastructure, network, and end-user technology projects.
- Apply engineering knowledge and technology to challenges in drilling, completions, production, and facilities.
- Improve processes, gather requirements, and coordinate initiatives using agile methods.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a bachelor's degree in computer science, software engineering, data science, cybersecurity, petroleum, electrical, mechanical, or systems engineering, mathematics, statistics, or business analytics.
- Must be enrolled as a full-time student through December 2027.
- Availability from May 3 to August 19, 2027.
- Solid academic results balanced with work, volunteer, or extracurricular experience.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and organizational skills.
- Ability to work well in a team environment.
- Curiosity, initiative, and attention to detail.

- Location: Calgary, Alberta, Canada.
- Work modality: On-site.
- Term: Summer 2027.
- Employment type: Full-time.
- Compensation: $23.75 - $34.90 CAD per hour, depending on year in school.
