    About the role#

    As a Mechanical Engineering student with the Maintenance Engineering team, you will help ensure the safe and reliable operation of refinery assets. You will work as the Owner’s Engineer, contributing to mechanical engineering decisions and changes. The team focuses on troubleshooting equipment, developing maintenance strategies, and implementing solutions to minimize downtime. You will work on-site at the Saint John Refinery as part of the Reliability Engineering group.

    What you'll do#

    • Develop Engineering Work Orders for equipment and piping repair.
    • Submit Management of Change requests.
    • Perform field walks to investigate jobs and mark up drawings for updates.
    • Coordinate with 3rd party contractors, Operations, Project and Maintenance managers, and Subject Matter Experts.
    • Ensure all work complies with refinery safety standards and procedures.
    • Use software including AutoCAD, Oracle, Cinetellate, Plant Manager, Bluebeam, Microsoft Office Suite, and Power Automate.

    What you'll need#

    • Current enrollment in Mechanical Engineering, completing your 2nd, 3rd, or 4th year of study.
    • You must be returning to school after the work term.
    • A safety-first mindset.
    • Ability to collaborate within a team and communicate effectively.
    • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Excel.
    • Ability to interpret engineering drawings and codes.
    • A valid Canadian Driver’s license.

    Location & details#

    • This role is based in Saint John, New Brunswick.
    • This is a full-time, on-site position.
    • Transportation to the refinery is the student’s responsibility.
