About the role#
This Student Nurse Technician internship is designed for senior nursing students. You will work under the supervision of an RN and faculty from the OU College of Nursing. The role focuses on completing required critical care clinical hours while assisting with routine patient care tasks alongside a preceptor.
What you'll do#
- Monitor patient health status in collaboration with the RN, the patient, and their family.
- Implement the established plan of care.
- Perform treatments and procedures as outlined in the skills competency checklist.
- Carry out tasks as defined by your supervising RN.
- Complete other duties as assigned.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment as a senior nursing student at an accredited college of nursing.
- Current Basic Life Support certification from the American Heart Association.
- Knowledge of basic nursing techniques and procedures.
- Ability to communicate clearly and follow both written and oral instructions.
- Skill in maintaining effective working relationships with others.

- Eligibility: Open to OU Traditional Program nursing students graduating in May 2027.
