About the role#
As a Supplier Quality Engineer Intern, you will support the Next Generation Delivery Vehicle Supplier Quality Engineering team. You will work directly with suppliers to ensure the quality of parts and manufacturing processes. This is a full-time, paid internship opportunity for Winter or Summer 2027.
What you'll do#
- Provide quality assurance support at supplier manufacturing locations.
- Participate in Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP), problem-solving, and 8D resolution for quality issues.
- Support Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) and capacity verification.
- Visit supplier sites to assess operations, technical capabilities, and manufacturing process controls.
- Conduct go-and-see visits to validate corrective actions and assess the effectiveness of improvements.
- Shadow experienced Supplier Quality Engineers during problem-solving activities.
- Support functional validation trials of supplier parts at the Spartanburg Assembly Plant.
- Evaluate supplier manufacturing processes and quality operating systems, focusing on body commodities and sheet metal forming.
- Use statistical analysis tools to support quality assessments and process capability evaluations.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a Bachelor's degree program for Quality, Mechanical, or Industrial Engineering.
- Graduation date of December 2027 or later.
- Ability to travel 50-60% of the time to supplier locations in the Midwest and the Spartanburg, SC Assembly Plant.
- GPA of 3.0 or higher.
- Familiarity with manufacturing or assembly processes.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and manage a workload to meet deadlines.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
