About the role#
The Clinical Intern position is a temporary learning role for students pursuing a health-related degree. You will gain hands-on exposure to orthopedic and musculoskeletal healthcare by working alongside physicians, therapists, and medical assistants. This role focuses on observing clinical operations and supporting the team to ensure a positive patient experience.
What you'll do#
- Prepare exam rooms, stock supplies, and keep patient care areas organized and clean.
- Escort patients to rooms and help manage patient flow under supervision.
- Observe patient evaluations, treatments, and procedures.
- Assist with non-clinical information gathering and prepare documentation materials.
- Provide patients with education materials and follow-up resources.
- Support administrative tasks including scanning, filing, and scheduling.
- Adhere to HIPAA, OSHA, and patient safety standards.
- Attend meetings, training sessions, and participate in departmental learning experiences.
What you'll need#
- A High School diploma or GED.
- Current enrollment in a college or university program leading to a health-related degree.
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and time management skills.
- Ability to maintain patient confidentiality and work well in a team.
- Basic computer proficiency and a willingness to learn healthcare systems.
- Ability to sit, stand, and walk for extended periods, including frequent bending and reaching.
- Ability to lift up to 25 pounds occasionally.
- Previous healthcare or volunteer experience and an interest in orthopaedics or sports medicine are preferred.

- This is a paid, on-site internship.
- Positions are available in Grand Rapids and Wyoming, Michigan.
- This role is open to full-time candidates with a rolling term.
