About the role#
This internship provides hands-on experience within the Conservation division at Orlando Utilities Commission. You will work alongside sustainability specialists to support ongoing operations and initiatives. The role involves contributing to projects centered on carbon reduction, water and energy conservation, and community outreach.
What you'll do#
- Support the Sustainability Department in daily operations and ongoing initiatives.
- Collaborate with specialists on carbon reduction and conservation programs.
- Conduct research to identify emerging sustainability trends.
- Analyze data to uncover actionable insights for resource conservation.
- Develop and promote sustainability programs to reach new audiences.
What you'll need#
- Currently enrolled at an accredited college or university as a sophomore or above.
- Cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher.
- Academic background in Environmental Engineering, Public Policy, or a related field.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
- Strong research, writing, and verbal communication skills.
- Experience or aptitude in creating marketing campaigns and engagement strategies.
- Ability to work independently and manage priorities.
- Authorization to work in the United States.
- Previous internship experience is preferred.

- Location: 3800 Gardenia Ave, Orlando, FL 32839.
- Modality: On-site.
- Term: Winter 2027 (January 11, 2027, to May 7, 2027).
- Schedule: Part-time, up to 25 hours per week.
- Compensation: $17 per hour.
