About the role#
The Community Engagement Intern joins the Marketing and New Products team at OUC. You will work with the Community Relations team to support outreach, volunteer programs, and education initiatives. This is a paid, part-time position offering hands-on experience in a professional utility environment.
What you'll do#
- Support marketing, customer outreach, and education programs through the execution of daily activities.
- Assist with the planning and logistics for internal and external events.
- Coordinate employee participation in volunteer programs and community events.
- Represent OUC on-site at community events.
- Manage the Community Engagement email inbox by responding to inquiries and routing them to the correct team members.
- Maintain databases and spreadsheets to track volunteer metrics, event logistics, and budgets.
- Handle administrative tasks such as scheduling meetings and preparing materials.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment at an accredited college or university with Junior status or above.
- A cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher.
- A major in Business Administration, Marketing, Communications, Accounting, Public Relations, or a related field.
- Authorization to work in the United States.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
- Strong quantitative skills and the ability to perform arithmetic computations.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- A creative approach to developing engagement strategies.
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work independently or within a team.
- Previous internship experience is preferred.
Location & details#
- Location: Orlando, Florida.
- Work Modality: Hybrid.
- Term: Winter 2027 (January 11, 2027, to May 7, 2027).
- Schedule: Part-time, up to 25 hours per week.
- Compensation: $15 to $17 per hour, depending on education level.
