About the role#
OUC is hiring a Computer Specialist Intern for the Digital and Technology division. You will work with the Desktop and Client Operations team to gain hands-on experience in the utility industry. This role involves on-the-job training and participation in team projects.
What you'll do#
- Provide local and remote desktop support.
- Respond to service requests and resolve assigned tickets.
- Deploy, re-image, repair, and upgrade computer hardware, operating systems, and server environments.
- Troubleshoot network and wireless connectivity issues.
- Assist with general IT infrastructure support.
- Perform security-related tasks such as virus research, vulnerability reviews, account deactivation, and Active Directory updates.
- Manage client relationships by delivering technical solutions.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment at an accredited college or university as a Sophomore or above.
- Major in Computer Science or Information System and Technology.
- Cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher.
- Authorization to work in the United States.
- Working knowledge of computer hardware, software, and IT equipment.
- Experience with Microsoft 365, Citrix, Remote Desktop, and Visio.
- Familiarity with ticketing systems like ServiceNow, Jira, or FootPrints.
- Ability to diagnose technical issues and prioritize work under deadlines.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Previous internship experience is preferred.
Location & details#
- This is an on-site position located in Orlando, Florida.
- The internship runs from January 11, 2027, to May 7, 2027.
- This is a part-time role with a maximum of 40 hours per week.
- Compensation ranges from $17.50 to $20.00 per hour based on education level.
