About the role#
OUC is hiring an Engineering Intern to join the Emerging Technologies team for the Winter 2027 term. This position offers hands-on experience in the utility sector, focusing on grid operations and system performance. You will work in a hybrid capacity based in Orlando, Florida.
What you'll do#
- Write and maintain data logging scripts to collect and analyze equipment performance.
- Assist engineers with field support, including the setup, maintenance, and troubleshooting of data logging stations.
- Design and fabricate 3D-printed parts and tools for project prototyping.
- Develop and run experiments to test new technologies for grid operations.
- Build and maintain dashboards to visualize data from fielded systems.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment at an accredited college or university as a Junior or above.
- Pursuing a degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
- A cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher.
- Authorization to work in the United States.
- A strong academic foundation in data scripting, programming, or automation.
- Experience with 3D printing processes, prototyping, and design for manufacturing.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
- Familiarity with data visualization tools.
- Ability to work independently and collaborate within a team.
- Previous internship experience is preferred.
