About the role#
The Accelerated RN Student Nurse Extern Program at Orlando Health Bayfront Hospital offers nursing students a chance to gain clinical experience before graduation. You will work in a specialty, medical surgical, or progressive care unit. This program runs from February 2027 until your graduation date.
What you'll do#
- Work directly with a RN trained preceptor in a 1-on-1 environment.
- Complete one 12-hour shift per week following your preceptor's schedule.
- Engage with patients to build nursing competence and confidence.
- Participate in supplementary educational sessions to support your learning.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an accredited Associates or Bachelor of Science in Nursing program.
- Expected graduation date through August 2027.
- Cumulative GPA of at least 3.0.
- Active BLS certification.
- Availability to work one 12-hour shift per week from February 2027 until graduation.
