About the role#
The Performance Analyst Student will join the Lottery Performance and Analytics team to support governance, data analysis, and reporting. You will work closely with the team to turn lottery performance data into insights that influence business decisions. This is a full-time student position for the Winter 2027 term, running from January to August 2027.
What you'll do#
- Support the Lottery Performance and Analytics team with governance, analysis, and reporting.
- Retrieve and use data from various sources to provide analysis and reporting solutions.
- Combine data from multiple sources to answer high-level business questions.
- Explore large, complex datasets to develop measurement solutions.
- Create actionable insights and recommend opportunities for performance optimization.
- Develop, publish, and schedule Power BI reports and dashboards.
- Define metrics that inform performance across the Lottery portfolio.
- Create standardized tools and queries to obtain relevant data from repositories.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a post-secondary program in Data Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Data Analytics, Computer Science, or a related quantitative field.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
- Working knowledge of SQL.
- Demonstrated aptitude for learning quickly and applying new concepts.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work independently or within a team.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Experience with Python or R for data manipulation and analysis is an asset.
- Experience with Power BI or other data visualization tools is an asset.
Location & details#
- This position is based on-site in either Sault Ste. Marie or Toronto, Ontario.
- This is a paid, full-time student role.
